Counselling (also known as psychotherapy / talk therapy) is a face to face / telehealth process between you and your Nurse Practitioner. Counselling assists you to explore and manage various personal issues, emotional difficulties, and life challenges. It is a confidential and non- judgmental process that aims to help you clarify issues, explore options, develop strategies, and increase self-awareness to resolve problems positively. Counselling is often a short-term treatment focused on a specific problem, but it can also address broader emotional issues and relationship problems.

Psych Fit Health’s Nurse Practitioners have advanced skills in mental health assessment. Assessment is the start of your journey to recovery. Mental health assessment allows you and your Nurse Practitioner to gain an understanding of the issues past and present that are impacting your health and risks / issues that need to be addressed as part of your treatment plan.

Psych Fit Health Nurse Practitioners specialise in acute care partnership- support and follow up mental health services for people who have crossed paths with acute services such as public and private mental health units / teams (emergency and admissions) or forensic services (legal/custodial).
