Fees
All first appointments run for 90 minutes. Allowing for initial assessment, comprehensive health assessment and management planning.
Follow-up / ongoing appointment times will be decided between you and your Nurse Practitioner.
A referral from your GP is not essential to access Medicare-rebated services through a Nurse Practitioner; however strongly recommended to support collaborative management.
There is no rebate session limit for services from a Nurse Practitioner. The number of services required is tied to the clinical indication – a discussion between you and your Nurse Practitioner. This is in place as a recognition from Medicare /Australian government re the importance and need for the advanced skill level Nurse Practitioners offer to you as a consumer and the Australian healthcare system.
